(April 7-12, 2000): Khan was invited to speak at the Technological Education and National Development (TEND 2000) conference in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. On April 10, Khan Met with His Excellency (HE) Sheikh Nahayan bin Mabarak Al Nahayan, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, United Arab Emirates. In the meeting, Khan proposed the establishment of UAEVirtual University (UAEVU) and Gulf Virtual University (GVU).
